I pull a toy hauler from eastern Iowa out to the Black Hills almost every year.
I prefer to take hwy 30 to Ames, up 35 to Hwy 20 all the way to Merriman or Chadron Nebraska. I usually camp overnight a a nice little rv park in Atkinson Nebraska.
Hwy 20 is nice and wide all the way across Nebraska, 65 mph speed limit and lots of agriculture for me to look at while driving.
