I would head form wherever you are at to hwy 20. It is a lot more pleasant than I 80. Then continue on into Nebrsaka if you like scenery. If you hurry, I 29 North to 90.
I like to stay in Chamberlin also.
Right now it is likely cheaper than Rapid City. I wouldn't be surprised an average room in Rapid is pushing $400 this week. Probably $200 or less next week.
