I used to get a lot of spam calls but a couple months ago when a call came that was not in my contact list I started to get a text message on the screen as the phone started ringing stating what the caller wanted to talk to me about. I asked a couple callers how that worked and they said it was like leaving a voicemail but I could see it as they were leaving it and answer if I wanted to talk to them. Since this started I notice a lot of missed calls in my call log that are labeled scam calls that the phone never rings through. I'm with Verizon and have no idea how this action started on my phone but it seems to filter out most of the spam calls and I like that.
