Ottawa,ON Canada | Pull the spring and outer sheave off and clean it up. Clean the cams and the grooves in them and reassemble with fresh grease. If you start fresh and keep it greased daily with TY6341, it should be fine on the 12 row. Make sure there is a gap between the lower sheaves when at low speed (more important on a flex head). Check that the upper pulley is parallel to the belt with a 6’ level. I feel most of our problems come from running the flex head and not greasing/cycling the speed up and down daily. Then when you move into corn, that grease is half cooked already and doesn’t let the sheaves do their job correctly, at which point, the corn head gets blamed for the problems. | |
