Life lessons ???? It isn’t his fault the alternator failed.
How many of us have had the battery light come on and limped it
to the shop, replaced the alternator and continued on with life?

I think all of us have at one time. It all the other garbage hanging off the engine
that is way to sensitive.

Why can it not be designed to automatically reset after fixing the low voltage and a power cycle? Or replacing a failed sensor or.. or .or whatever the problem is.

It can be, most code on my stuff I don't have to reset...fix the problem, a couple restarts so it can see it's happy now, and go.

Sure, there are occasional issues we have to get involved to get a stubborn code to clear out, but it's not every time by any means.
