What's complicated about it, AGCO doesn't own it, and never did...seeing how they purchased DEUTZ-ALLIS from the Germans, they never got the Allis Chalmers name. Allis Chalmers had the original generators in the Hoover Dam, and also signed a 99 year service contract for those is what I was always told, that's why the Allis Chalmers energy he talks about was the last remaining part of Allis Chalmers, they had an office in Vegas to basically hire contractors to service their generators....I obviously wasn't directly involved in any of this, but this is always what I was told from folks who were around all 3 companies back in those days.
So, AGCO can't and won't go after it I'm sure...I'll argue it's no longer as valuable as it once was anyway, all the people who cared about the name are dying out....I love my connection to Allis Chalmers since that's where Grandpa started, but I can't cling to the past and dig my feet in and survive in the modern equipment business...I can point you to dozens of dealer who did exactly that starting in about 1986 that are no longer here today...
The toy companies can pay for the license, but from what I've heard it cost for AGCO to try to get it, or use it, no thanks.
