Latimer Iowa | We ran a 4430 8 speed powershift on a 535 with a kicker. Worked good. There are enough speeds to make it work.
The second the bale monitor light went solid you wanted to be on the clutch and the brakes so it would wrap well. If material got caught up in the wrap it wasn’t good. The 535s and wrap were known to be temperamental. FD 1000s of bales with no issue. Tractor would also pull a Meyer 700 manure spreader. Was heavy enough if it was dry out. I think it had 13,000 hours on it when I traded it and we had never been in transmission. Traded for a 7800 powershift and it was nicer in all aspects of operation.
Ran 30/4020s powershift on our feed wagons and pulling silage wagons too. The powershift is nice for adjusting how full the bunk is. I wouldn’t call them bulletproof but they held up well. | |
