Have twin thousand gallon tanks connected together and pump out of one. Each tank has a shut-off valve on the bottom bung. The tanks are connected at those lower bungs with a 3/4" fuel hose with fuel hose swivels at each end.

Typically pump out of one, then open the valves overnight to let the tank levels equalize, then close the valves again. The thought there is to let any stirred up junk settle between equalization. If tanks are perfectly clean, could leave the valves open all the time.

Just remember to only leave the valves open if the tanks are level to each other. We used to have 2 1000s hooked together. One was a little higher than the other. Ended up with some spillage one time.
