Prairie of Southern MN | Have not posted for quite some time, but hoping to hear from the Deere SoundGard guys.
I have an ‘84 4450, MFWD, power shift. Pulled into the shed one evening after baling, everything fine. Went to back out the next morning and it feels like it’s stuck in park when I put it in gear. The tractor will move if I rev it some, but does not feel right (have not done this but once).
I started checking linkage. I cannot see any broken roll pins or ball joints. I replaced the ball joins on the furthest ahead linkage arm on the right side (see picture) that moves when the shift lever is taken out of park but no difference.
The parts book shows something called a park lock shaft further up in the linkage. I’ve also wondered about cab mount isolators or the isolators on the bracket where the shift linkage pivots. It’s proving a struggle to narrow down. Thought I’d see what people have discovered who maybe ran into this before.
