Changing a water pump on a 3.9 Cummins. The old one has the weep hole pointing up.
Machine has 7000 hrs and its new to me.
Possible it was previously installed upside down?
I have always assumed the weep holes point down to avoid dirt and crud accumulation.
Water pump ?
