What I know is from first hand experience.

The only big block diesel on the place to ever punch a hole in the side of the block was a c-13. 625k.....yes you could make the argument it should have had rods and mains. Undoubtedly their reputation is mid at best.
Overly complicated, not great on fuel and not much more power than a C-12.

Conversely the three Detroits here keep chugging away all with over 1m.
