SE MN | My main 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 ratchets are Mac axis locking flex. I use the flex almost every time, don't know how I got by without a flex before. I ran a non-locking flex for a bit but every time I needed to pull it felt like it was going to twist and buckle and flip off the bolt. Didn't trust it enough. It's also much easier to fish it into a hard spot with it locked in position. The nonlocking would want to tilt back when it bumped into anything and you'd have to pull it out, adjust it, and try to fish it in without touching anything. The Macs have a great feel and are nice and tight but pretty spendy. I was going to go with gearwrench bc they are cheaper but I tried one and they had so much slop in the flex that it was disgusting to use. | |
