we spend less than 1/3 that. Do most stuff ourselves tho. This is over 10 years.
I have a nephew that bought a real nice 9660 used. He has spent $1 per acre in repairs so far over 5 years and 8000 acres. Not counting oil changes, grease, etc. He does his own work, with his uncle giving him an occasional hand, LOL.
We recently bought an S670 with 1600 seperator hours. Same owner from new. Inspected/repaired by the same mechanic every year. The farmer changed his own oil, filters, etc. 10 years and 1600 hours with all repairs done at the dealer came in around $4 an acre or a little less. Probably around 2/3 of the repairs occurred between 1200 and 1500 seperator hours.
So a good bit of repair cost depends if you buy new, run it to 1000 seperator hours, or buy them used at 1000 seperator hours, and run them to 2000 seperator, etc. This would be true for the lower Midwest boys, anyway.
We like to buy well maintained ones from the lower Midwest at around 1500 seperator hours.... ready for round two.

If we bought a new one, it wouldn't need a lot of stuff done until probably closer 2000 to 2500 seperator hours because of small fields, smaller heads, and lower yields. We just don't get the bph through them like the Midwest boys.
