Based on the pictures I see it’s against a wall and you’re trying to recline it while turned facing the center of the RV. My best guess is that it wasn’t meant to be used as a recliner in any position other than parallel with the wall but you didn’t provide enough context in your pictures.
We too just recently bought a RV (but I’m not old lol!) and there are things in ours that make me scratch my head such as the driver and passenger seats spin 270 degrees to act as house chairs but the seatbelt stays attached and is in the way?
Learning to drive it has been fun but I’m thankful I bought a diesel. Ours is 40ft with a 6.7 Cummins and it will run 82mph down the interstate if you want it to. I try to keep it under 75 most of the time but I am a Texan. Shockingly it gets around 9mpg too.
