I live in the F-M area. There was a proposal some years ago about cutting a channel to the Sheyenne from Devil's Lake to reduce the rising lake levels. I have not heard about that is a long time and the idea was scrapped I think due to potential to make flooding in Fargo worse. I also have not heard anything about rising water levels in Devils lake for some years either.
