Subject: RE: Removing nails from steel siding

SW OH
We had the chance to take down a 60X120 Morton that had the tin nailed on. The plan was to bring it home and put it all back up. We made several different pullers but the tore up tin too much. Clipping the heads with hoof nippers worked OK, but was a slow process. We had 2 weeks to take it down in 20 degree temperatures with snow an ice on the roof so we passed on the deal. The guy that did take it down hired an Amish crew that did clip the heads and pull the nails later.

I've seen barns taken with an excavator. All the nails stayed in the wood and was not a problem.
