Jon, always wondered how those drill work in wet conditions? Is your soil a clay or is it lighter? They seem pretty popular down in the States but I don't know of any is this part of the world.
My area has a heavy clay loam soil that stays wet about forever. North of us in the sandy flats, they have been planting a crop for most of a week, we MAY be able to start mid next week.
Got to roll all the pea acres to push down the rocks on monday and do a glyphosate burn down. We did not have a hard deep freeze here last winter, so a lot of nasty stuff survived the winter.
My first double box 750 drill came from the JD dealer in Humbolt SK.
That is about 500 miles north of me.
I asked the dealer why the owner traded and what he is using now. He said the guy had problems getting his soil dry and warm enough to make it work, frost nipped his crops several years in a row. He went to a hoe type seeder and had better luck.
The dealer in Humbolt said they had a program like CRP in the US to retire farm land to grass and that the drill seeded a lot of grass.
A serial number history check said that the original selling dealer was in Prince Albert.
