I've never found a shortcut. Run them through a tomato juicer, boil till it's as thick as you want and can. Actual labor time is about 20-30 minutes. Clock time is several hours. For me, two 5 gallon buckets full of a Roma/slicer mix gets me about 7 qts of sauce.
