Adding a few pictures of the oat mill we are part of building in Albert Lea MN. We have a great group of 130 farmer investor owners as well as myself. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on the day, the minute, or the perspective, I serve as the founder, designer, financier, and general/project manager, as a side gig to farming. Its been a fun project that is nearing completion. This is about a 70M greenfield build that will process 4M bushels of oats annually but is also designed with expansion in mind.

I have been posting pics (Look up past posts for info and older pics) throughout the construction process because I find building a project like this fun and guessing some other farmers do as well. I also like seeing pics of other farmer's projects. Most mills do not allow outside people to look around but I will give a tour on Sunday August 23rd at 1 pm onsite at 360 E 14th street in Albert Lea Mn to those agtalkers that are interested in seeing a modern food production facility. This is arguably the most advanced grain mill in the world.

I am keeping this post short but generally a good walkthrough takes a couple hours so plan on that if you come. There are also lots of stairs. Very nice stairs but plenty of them, I am old enough myself that we don't run up them though. Closed toe shoes are also needed. We are doing it on a Sunday to avoid the construction crews that are on 6 day weeks with about 150 guys working at a given time. I know of a few agtalkers that will be there so I don't need any RSVP's and there will not be food. If some of us want to meet up first for lunch or hang out a bit after to bull**** that's fine with me. Please respond here though if you are thinking of coming just so I know how many to plan for.

If someone is coming from the south, I farm about 1 hour south of Albert Lea in Latimer IA right along I-35. We could meet up at my bin site at 1560 Heather Ave Latimer IA at 10 am if you want to look at some farm stuff; double crop beans, cover crops, manure, and bins.

As you know from my posts and a few of you that have been there I am fairly open about what the mill is, why it will work, and what it has taken to build it. We started pouring concrete in late summer last year with the slip form in mid September 2025. There has been right at 7500 cubic yards of concrete placed onsite. These pics represent about 11 months of progress, several years of planning though. The plan is to be receiving oats in early September with I/O checks and commissioning taking the balance of September. Saleable product by Oct 1 26

Disclaimer as this is not marketing: We are not looking for more oats to purchase, our goal is to source primarily from our investors. Our production requirements and traceability also do not allow for purchases on the open market. Please don't call me or just come to try and sell us oats. I can't field multiple requests from people trying to sell oats. We are also currently not looking for investors, the capital stack is complete and we will reward the farmers that invested with any further opportunities.
