I know you guys are farming different in "big field country", but what is there on a planter that causes 2 days of downtime that one can't fix themselves vs waiting on a dealer tech? As for a tractor, it's probably going to be more catastrophic than a day or so and you're probably going to switch tractors anyway. 

For anyone saying that tech is costing them 2 full consecutive days of downtime more than once every few years, I would challenge your analysis of whether that particular tech is getting you the ROI you think it is.

For some, maybe a 1.5 million dollar shop could possibly pay for itself in risk avoidance, but I would argue for 95% of the folks on here, how would you say it.... "Ain't no way!"
