If memory serves, it had two 3/8" thick steel plates to sandwich the tongue with long bolts. It worked that way for many years but was never a fan of how it would flop around side to side when turning at the end of the field.
If doing it over today, probably would make the mount more rigid and wider out of square steel tubing.
