NW Ohio | Take him to dinner and explain why you do what you do. Let him know if he is going to charge you moving forward you will just plant it.
I am willing to guess the guy doesn't have any/many friends, a simple act of kindness will most likely go a long way.
The way I see it, the worst you are out is $120 and you'll plant some extra crops next year if the conversation doesn't go well. However, showing people like him some simple kindness and human interaction typically go much farther than your average Joe.
I have a brother that will be in this guy's situation. Just a little bit of friendship/friendliness shown his way will make his entire month. | |
