My understanding is the agencies who run the fundraisers for various charities are the ones who set the "donation of just $19.99 per month". That is their take from the charity for using them. Anything above the $19.99/month actually goes to the charity. This is one of the reasons we keep our donations local.
Actually the 19.99 donation saves the charity from having to issue receipts. IRS rules say $240 a year or more they have to issue a receipt. |
