Subject: Early model 4020 Deere hydraulic help

ne nebraska
Using a box scraper in this example. Scraper is lifted and in the air. If I lower the scraper, and try to stop it half way down, as soon as I let go of the scv lever, the scraper goes right back up to full up stroke, even with the lever in the neutral position. If I lock the lever in retract position to lower the scraper, and the scraper goes all the way down, and the cylinder closing is what actually kicks out the scv, then it will stay down. But if I try to stop it anywhere midstroke, it goes all the way back up. This tractor has 2 scv’s and both of them behave exactly the same way. It also does this on multiple pieces of equipment. I have not done any diagnosing yet, mostly because I don’t really know where to start. any thoughts? Thank you
