| A good engine job is like a good paint job, the success is largely dependent on the preparation. Clean, measure, check. Modern engines are not like throwing a kit in an A or M.
In a past life I sold hundreds of engine kits from Reliance, Maxiforce, and many others and failures due to a faulty part are very rare. Like any manufacturer there can be issues, but again they're tremendously rare. If it makes you feel better to use an OEM head gasket, go for it. If you had issues with some aftermarket kit, save it I don't need to hear it, BTDT.
