Central Kansas | IV combination and/or strong antibiotics can cause the overgrowth of a bowl flora bacterium, Clostridium difficle. This gut infection is frequently treated with the oral antibiotic Vancomycin. Vancomycin may cause thrombocytopenia in some recipients…manifested in increased bruising, some blood in urine or nosebleeds. Not common, but reported as a side effect. Of course there are other factors like elevated blood pressure, etc that could be the culprit here. | |
