My dad had the spreader but not the loader. Model HH 4 wheel rubber tired spreader made for either tractor or horses. Had the seat and small platform on it for a rider which I got to ride as a kid while my dad spread and drove the tractor. Not OSHA approved I'm sure. Nothing to hold on to. I did get to run the lever to turn it on. As a kid I thought about falling into the spreader and dad not noticing and me getting spread out the back by the beaters! Yikes!!! I held onto the seat.

The first loader tractor he had was on a 52 8N Ford. Trip dump. Even with it I remember him using a pitch fork nearly as much as the loader because the hay infused manure and no hydraulic grapple on the loader made a lot of manual fork work mandatory. I don't know if the spreader came before the 8N or not but I suspect it did. 

He never had a loader on a 2 cyl JD even though he had 3 different "B's" and a 620 in his lifetime.

If I recall correctly "power fuel" was not really like Diesel. It was more like kerosene only with heavier components. Of course back then if a person ran out of Diesel he could temporarily mix some kerosene half and half to get to the next Diesel stop. Probably would not dare do that today.

The whole reason to use Power Fuel was because it was a cheap distillate, I suppose the refiners could pull out of the refinery almost as a waste product when creating gasoline. But I am only guessing at that. You can look at old Nebraska tests and see the power output was down and JD even gave different ratings for horsepower different for power fuel or gasoline.
