Fontanelle, IA | If Kansas wheat got grazed off and “hope” planted to corn, there’s a part of me that thinks KS corn production in 2026 could offset some of the drought yield amputation in ND.
Iowa (to this point) doesn’t have the millstone of Southern Rust/impotent fungicides/poor application practices around its neck and probably will offset maybe 50% of SD drought yield amputation. I firmly believe the 2026 crop does NOT have the potential as 2025 pre-southern rust; but, 2026 hasn’t been fighting southern rust for the past 3 weeks either.
Then, the question will be how good is the corn crop yield in the cotton belt that switched.
Pete Meyer was on Joe Vaclaviks Standard Grain members only video….. Pete suggested that corn acres could go up another 1-1.5 million acres over the 95.3 —- a kick in the sack if it materializes…..
