It's not just about rusted out grass decks.  Waiting until after the dews has dried off is better for the grass itself.   If you have disease issues, mowing when the grass is wet is easier to spread the disease around.  At least that is my understanding.



I don’t think my Dad cared much for the well-being of the grass - LOL, more of a necessary pain in the buttox than anything else! I’m in the same boat, I care more about not having a heat stroke and/or rusted out deck than a garden club looking grass - LOL!
