Might be for some. But for myself and I know others as well. My no is no. Had a nice guy stop in 3 years in a row asking about seed. Told him we were happy with what we had and weren’t interested the first day he stopped. Year later there he is pulling up to the shop while we’re working wanting us to stop and chat. Stopped what we were doing to chat and say no. Third year like clockwork there he is. Didn’t look up or acknowledge him or stop working. He says “must not be able to stop what you’re doing, I’ll come back later.” Told him not stop stop by again.
Or another one we had happen, we buy from an independent brand that a guy close enough by sells. A neighborish guy a few roads over started selling for them, knew we plant that seed, and stopped in mid summer just checking to make sure we had gotten a seed catalog already from our salesman. Thought he was doing a big favor trying to take some business away from the other guy. Funny thing is the guy we work with hadn’t stopped yet because he knows to put in an order for us to lock in discounts and we’ll adjust after harvest for what we want.

I get selling seed is a business but seed salesmen drive me nuts. More so than any other products. We visit with a competing equipment dealer a few times a year when he stops, but he’s out building relationships not pricing equipment when he’s out
