Any good tips on staying alert on a 7 hour drive? My passengers struggle with keeping awake so conversation is out part of the time.

7 hours is the first fuel stop LOL

I alternate chewing gum, or I keep something like Reese's Pieces or Starburst so I can pop a few, or unwrap one, every few minutes to be doing something other than sitting there staring forward. I have tried to stay off slamming caffeine, not that sugar is much better I'm sure, but it makes me feel like I'm trying. I can't do the Sunflower seeds, but that's basically the same idea!

I drive to Texas hunting every February and while I normally say I'll stop and get a room for the night, I usually just drive 21 hours straight through because I get to Texarkana or somewhere along there and say "I still feel good, I'll keep going" and by the time I think about it again I'm south of Dallas getting fuel again. One of these days I'll get old enough I get smart, but it hasn't happened yet!
