Id say oats

When people that say we need to go back to farming like our ancestors, i wonder just how many of them would sign up to make shocks

I've done it, 10-12 acres. On a 75-80* day it isn't the worst...when it's 95* I'd rather throw myself in the binder!

It also got better when enough of the "purists" stopped coming to help so we didn't have to worry if the top shock was pointed the right direction or not...it's 10 acres to thresh wheat at the antique show, we're not making our living here!

I do things like that, and drive our tractors from 1914-1919 and wonder if it actually was that bad behind a horse, because those sure only seem marginally better...but I fully recognize how spoiled we are.
