Every drone with 8 motors seems to have bearing issues. Likely from water/spray getting trapped since the bottom motors dont drain well. The redundancy is nice but just seems to lead towards more frequent problems.
4 motor drones will go down if a bearing goes out, but have a good preflight inspection process and you can catch most problems before they occur.
