I remember dad saying he had a John Deere picker and it was a joke. Shelled corn on the ground and wasn't very reliable. Traded it for a Woods Brothers (I think - memory sketchy) and he said it worked really good. Your right. Hand pick the rows going to start the land out where the tractor run. Pull type of course.
For many years we kept the wagon around that the ear corn was picked into. If I recall it was a Montgomery Ward trailer, all steel with fold down sides. Sides would fold out to make a flat bed. |
