Hey, if it works for you, that's great. There are a few potential issues for others to consider:

1. Having one machine with two functions means if one part breaks down, you're out of the laundry business totally until you get it fixed. This, along with (typically) smaller capacity has always been the downside of the washer/dryer combo machines.

2. There are some clothes that I don't mind washing together, but I might not want some them in a drying machine- shirts for example.

3. Heat-pump dryers take a lot longer cycle. Not an issue if you're only doing one load per day, which seems to be your situation. With the 'old' vented or condenser type, you could finish a wash load, put that in the dryer, and immediately start another wash load. By the time #2 wash load was done, so was #1 dryer load. Not so with heat-pump type dryer. Heat-pump dryers are sold as "energy efficient" and that is true. However, since the cycle is so much longer, your clothes spend a lot more time tumbling and bashing together, wearing them faster. The money saved in electricity is at least somewhat offset by having to replace clothing more often.

4. I'm told that the heat exchanger will eventually fill with lint and they are almost impossible to clean = service life will likely be shorter. Who hasn't grumbled lately about how appliances don't last as long as they used to...
