Where are you going to see the ocean? The beaches can vary quite a bit state to state and season to season. What time of year are you coming? The cape May-Lewes ferry is interesting between New Jersey and Delaware, and the Chesapeake bay bridge/tunnel is also interesting. Is Washington DC the starting point or along the way?
Probably go in the next few days or so.
Washington DC would be a stop on the way out or on the way back.
Wife mentioned Virginia Beach but I'm not really sure.
