Age-induced far-sightedness

Anyone following/know of the clinical trials, or related, for improving up-close vision, as in not needing cheaters as we get older?

Saw an article a few years ago about trials for eye drops that were very promising. The studies/trials are looking to be successful and FDA approved later this year. I think this is the one I had read about previously:

(decent article, not too jargon filled)

I had lasik a quarter century or so ago and that was the best thing ever. No more glasses or contacts.

Like many, I've resisted getting cheaters, but I do have to use my phone's magnifier more and more. If you don't know, using an iPhone for example, you can turn on an accessibility feature that enables a zoomable magnifier complete with optional light and other features. Makes reading the restaurant bill in the dark booth much easier. Mine is set for 3 clicks on the power button to pop it on. Handier than carrying around a magnifying class when trying to read the p/n of a relay or bearing race
