I hope that is not the case for us. So far so good. We will see. If it craps out I will let AgTalk know.

We had a top end GE set that the washer quit automatically doing the final rinse and spin cycle without intervention and doing it manually. I think it was three or four years old. One of those deals do you spend half the cost for the two trips of the repair man coming out twice and parts, or just bite the bullet and buy a new one. These were stacked so you either buy the exact same brand (GE) that just crapped out so they match and stack or replace the whole set at an even higher cost.

My solution??? Procrastinate. So for two or three weeks Carolynn had to manually go into the final spin mode and start it. Then it finally shot craps totally. Darn it (not my exact words). She REALLY was not in the mood to start doing laundry in town. I had been doing research on fixing it myself and had trouble shot it down to either the water control valve or the main computer control board. To get it fixed fast I could order both and just shotgun the parts hoping one or the other would fix it. Probably a week all told to get the parts and me get motivated enough to tear into it. Or order one part, see if it fixed it, and potentially two weeks down the road if it didn't work. 

So what did I do??? That is when I came up with the brainstorm to just go get her a new pair, in the mean time order the cheapest and easiest to install part and try it, then pass that pair down to my grandson's family once the repair was successful. Problem solved.

And surprising as heck, after procrastinating as long as possible I ordered the water control valve, amazingly enough after watching a half dozen Youtube videos got it installed, and it fixed the problem. Almost nothing ever goes that easy when it comes to home repairs. Two grandsons got it moved over to the old house and wife ran a couple of cycles and it seems to work fine.

I so like it when a plan works out.

That is how she ended up with the all in one and it was actually me who suggested trying one. She was looking at the price and balking and I reminded her it was only her kids inheritance she was spending, so go for it.
