Pittsburg, Kansas | Once we agreed on a price for the car, of course you have to go talk to the money guy and he tries to sell you everything under the sun. I didn't pay much attention and forget exactly how many things he had of the list with the payments listed for the package.
But my loan was zero interest which should have been the amount agreed on for the car divided by 72 payments. I said none of the figures he was showing me were the ones quoted. So he got out the original piece of paper and I politely said I didn't want of the additional insurance, extended warranty, gap insurance and whatever else he had in there. I think it was another hundred and fifty bucks a month or something like that. He was definitely not pushy about it. Once he realized I wasn't a Rube and knew what I was doing he finished the paperwork and all was good. Seemed like a nice guy.
But I could sure see where an uninformed person might get sold a bunch of high or over priced stuff. I've only bought an extended warranty once on our current CanAm Spyder and I got it for half the original list price. All that stuff for a dealer is high margin and negotiable in price if a person actually wants or needs it. I didn't want or need it.
