| Whatever you do dont go single hung. Double hungs are not that much more and cleaning as you age is not fun. Those top outside panes are a real pain. Stepladder legs disappear into dirt if not solid concrete and your still at peril. I am now banned from the ladder use and no one else to do it. Next gen says they dont have time.
I use the NAPA good cleaner with ammonia and a waxy finish so I have to wash every two years or so.
But as you age the double hung windows can all be washed from the inside and single hung cant. If furniture has to be moved buy some ‘sliders’ | |
