Are you doing grade work where you need the extra accuracy? Modern gps base will cover a lot of ground if you just need it for steering. As far as batteries I do have a suggestion. I would look into lithium iron phosphate. They are more stable than lithium ion but lighter than lead. Volt is pretty close to a lead acid too. Far as sizing check your amp draw and go from there.
