Eastern NE KS | I think you miss the point. The only folks that make money on vehicles are the dealers who find someone that values the unit for more than the dealer's cost.
It's very rare that a personal transportation vehicle is constantly 'for sale' in the hope of making a positive margin on the purchase. And that is what is required to yield any equity.
Said another way, have you had your banker volunteer to use any 'equity' sourced from a vehicle. It may happen but that is a very short term loan with other limitations and conditions to ensure the perceived equity does not disappear before the loan is paid off.
