I ran across this this morning. A comparison of a Tesla to the Toyota C-HR of the same model as wife's Subaru Uncharted GT although the GT model does have cooled seats so it is a little higher equipped than the Toyota. But as far as size or other features it is the same as the Toyota C-HR in the video.

I tend to agree with him on the display in front of the steering wheel. It works fine for both wife and I, but I think they could have done better. The size of the information is pretty tiny for these 72 year old eyes. The location of it instead of a heads up display (which we are used to on our other vehicles) is fine though. Wife likes the square steering wheel as do I (steering wheel is round on Toyota, squarish on the Subaru - one of the differences).

I also agree with him that the software is lacking. But for our use (as we imagine it anyway) it is not an issue for us. Now should we decide we like it way more that we thought we would and start taking it on cross country trips, I can see where his argument does make sense. The Tesla is far superior in that respect.

But reality is this was for my wife as a local driver. She is a Toyota gal. She has owned three Toyota Venza's and also has a classic Toyota Spyder. Going to a new Tesla would have been a whole new experience. Maybe good, maybe not so good. Going to this Subaru (A Toyota in drag) was an evolution rather than a revolution. She sat in it, drove it and liked it. I didn't even test drive it (rode in the back seat while salesman sat beside her). If she was happy, good enough for me. Happy wife, happy life.

Comparison: I think the Tesla guy did a really good job of evaluating the car.
