Subject: So why aren’t you killing EVERYTHING with 2-4D?

I have had Extend ( Dicamba) beans for years now. I use it on the roadsides , I used to use it on my beans before all of the restrictions, it worked great. Now I use just liberty because of the volatility of dicamba. I have many neighbors that have enlist beans so of course I have to be mindful of them even when I’m doing just spot spraying along field edges.
I have started just this year to use a dedicated sprayer for straight 2-4D in between my neighbors farms and mine ( the ones who have enlist beans) I don’t care if I kill some of mine just as long as I clean up the field edges. Here is what I have noticed. I am hammering EVERYTHING with straight 2-4D. It is actually working better than Dicamba. I’m talking waterhemp, velvet leaf ( dicamba for some reason isn’t good on velvet leaf unless you really soak it) but my generic 2-4D in my spot sprayer is actually more deadly than my Dicamba in my other spot sprayer. So…..my question is, WHY are you enlist guys having such a hard time killing weeds? From my experience it should be killing everything well. Are you tied down to a watered down product? If so why the hell would they water it down so much? Wouldn’t that contribute to resistance? What is up with the 2-4D that you are required to use? Is it half rate? Can you double it? Is it cost prohibitive? I am seriously hammering 6 ft waterhemp with it and I think it’s working at least as well as if not better than Dicamba. You enlist guys should be able to use a qt/acre and get everything out there. I’m not getting it as to why it’s not doing its job. I think you are required to use a weak ass product.
