My take is he is asking how much MORE is it worth, not if he should buy it .
I can tell you this. I have bought 200 acres next to land I live at and farmed. I can plant that in a day if I desire. I break down it is usually not a big deal as the tools and parts are here.
One of the other farms loosing a $1.00 lynch pin can result in 2 hours on the road to get another.
I could farm 2x as many acres if it was all next to each other. Then figure the cost of road time.
Figure an extra $350 an acre income a year from farming the extra acres. ( remember you own the land so everything above variable costs stays home) I think that could easily justify $3500 extra.
