Floyd County, Iowa | We had a dog many years ago that was named Bones (my handle). One day the vet was out working hogs with me and figured it was about time to get his rabies shot renewed. Vet was filling out the paperwork and aske what the dog's name was. I told him Bones. Our 4 year old daughter standing there didn't hesitate: "Bones is Sumbitch, right dad"? Wife lectured me later. One of many language induced lectures.
Our present dog is Maggie. Has a lot of hound or Beagle in her. Got her at 3 yrs old from a shelter. I call her "Goober", "Miss Poopalot", "Doodlebug". And of course damn dog once in a while. | |
