I don't think so. He and I both know that an EV wouldn't work for him at this time. The choice came down to a 5 litre Ford Coyote or a Hemi Ram because we were talking pickups.
Myself, I don't really trust the transmission in the Ford but I think the coyote might be a decent powerplant. I'm questionable on the RAM but he was swayed by the 10 year warranty so that was his pick. I can see where that makes sense. Kind of a sad deal when you need to base your decision on warranty length and not on longevity of the power train. I think all the ICE platforms have gotten way to complex, in their quest to squeeze the last drop of mileage from a gallon of fuel. That makes the whole deal more prone to failure. 
Simple wins that argument. Hard to get more simple than an electric motor and no transmission.
