My neighbor always got more rain than I did.  This last go round we got 3.3 inches according my my gauge.  We used to have several gauges and it was seldom that they all measured the same.  They were in a slightly different locations, up to 190 feet apart, north to south.  The field often received more rain than by the house, according to that gauge.

I see that the map shows we received 2.42 inches, I'll check later and see if it increases.

I've never been too concerned about the exact amount because I have no control over how much we get.  And if the field is too muddy to go into or if the crop is withering from heat, wind and lack of moisture there's nothing I can do to change it.  It becomes just something to have a conversation about.  Though it seems some treat it as a contest. :-)
