Ah, different regions and terms.
Timber soils were derived from forested soils here and prairie soils derived from grasslands. Much of WI is considered timber soils. These are lower soil OM compared to prairie soils. 1.5-3.0% OM compared to prairie soils generally 3.0-5.0% OM.
