NW IA
68 here. I had the "What did I come in here for?" moments when going to the shop to get a tool etc.

4-5 years ago I fell down the Dr. Burns rabbit hole on NAT's Kitchen table (I had looked on the whole foods folks as kooks on some level before trying it) after no offer of help from my doctors when generally feeling unwell.

Short version. Only eat whole foods, no vegetable oils, no added sugar, and in my case near zero carbs since I self diagnosed pre-diabetic. Mostly meat, a few beans from my wife's garden etc.

I don't always hit my goal of not eating after 5 PM, but it helps. Typically eat the first of 2 meals a day after 10:30 AM - noon.

Running on fuel that supports health rather than harming it has cleared out the "what did I come here for?" annoyance.

I don't take any supplements. Not sure if I might benefit from doing so, just don't feel the need at this point.

Make sure you are running on pure high quality fuel.
